Our driving school is approved by the Texas Department of Public Safety to offer third party road skills tests. Call to schedule.
The DPS Road Skills Test will be conducted by a state-certified examiner at Central Park Driving School. The test will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. To obtain your actual driver's license card, you will still have to appear in person at a Department of Public Safety Office location.
Road Tests
Avoid the long wait for a driving test at the Texas DPS and take your road test at our driving school using one of our vehicles. We can administer the driving test no matter where you took driver education. Must have a valid learner's permit to be eligible for road test and all required documents. Should you fail to provide all required documents or fail your first attempt, you can pay the retest fee of only $45.
Behind-the-Wheel: Refresher & Road Test 2 attempts
Students test in our vehicle with our DPS-approved instructor. You get a 45 minute check ride to familiarize yourself with our vehicle before the test starts. During this check ride, your instructor may provide feedback on skills you must demonstrate during the road test.
After the check ride or lesson, the student is directed to the test route, and our DPS-approved examiners evaluate skills. Following the test, all paperwork is checked for accuracy and sealed for your change appointment at DPS.
If you don't pass, you get one more attempt at no additional charge. You can only complete one test per day.
